Why This Matters

Black, Indigenous, and families of color experience disproportionate risk factors for perinatal mental health conditions and face barriers to culturally responsive screening and treatment. National and Washington State data show persistent racial disparities in maternal health outcomes, with mental health conditions among the leading causes of pregnancy-related death.

Nurture & Nourish helps bridge this gap by offering early emotional stabilization and trusted referral pathways before crises escalate.
